Peace Of Mind

Today, as I am just wondering how I am gonna spend the day, this little Fortune (left side of my blog) pops with "Reach out to those who need your love.  You have it to share'.  Perhaps, the Universe has it wanted that I should give something that I already owned.  Something that I have benefited and enjoyed.

I have been contemplating of writing about the benefits of Pyramid Meditation since the day I attended a talk about it.  Just the other day, I was talking to a friend whom I would want to guide the technique.  For her general being, for her highest good.

Then, another friend who knew that I had attended the Pyramid Meditation session wanted me to hold a small talk/class to disseminte such a wonderful thing and get it shared.  Afterall, that is exactly the purpose of the Talk - that, such knowledge should be spread.

Well, here it goes.  But before I get into the Pyramid Meditation proper, (and I am already hearing some of my other friends who would start saying how long-winded I could be), let me connect myself to the Universe to talk a little bit about meditation.  It is just my way of writing; that I want to communicate with the Universe.  This communication is important to me.  It is about acknowledgement, guidance and expansion.

Without us knowing much, we do engage in some forms of meditation daily.  When we are able to quieten our mind, in its moment of silence, we are doing meditation.  When we are walking alone and looking at the sky, when we are enjoying the breeze brushing our senses, when we sit in the bus or train looking at our surrounding, when we are cleaning the house with an intent or when we are just staring blankly outside at our world.  We just do not realize that we have put our mind back to silence.

When the mind is silenced, when we are able to blank out our thoughts - pushing these thoughts away as they come gushing into our consciousness, we are experiencing SamadhiSamadhi, a sanskrit word, is a state of complete control over the functions and distractions of consciousness.  It is a state of being aware of one's existence without thinking.

One should not be confused with another meditation technique, Vipassana.  In Vipassana, we are to meditate to see things as they really are.  It focusses on the deep interconnection between the mind and the body.  It is an observation based meditation.  Vipassana, to me, is an advanced meditation.  The full benefit of Vipassana can only be maximized when we have achieved Samadhi.

Taken from the quotes of Nisargadatta Maharaj from 'The Ultimate Medicine', Samadhi is describe as:

"When you say you sit for meditation, the first thing to be done is understand that it is not this body identification that is sitting for meditation, but this knowledge 'I AM', this consciousness, which is sitting in meditation and is meditating on itself.  When this is finally understood, then it becomes easy.

When this consciousness, this conscious presence, merges in itself, the state of 'samadhi' ensures.  It is the conceptual feeling that I exist that disappears and merges into the beingness itself.  So this conscious presence also gets merged into that knowledge, that beingness - that is 'Samadhi'.

I know of few individuals whose state of awareness are heightened without them thinking.  Where they are just able to know things and for the things to happen.  When they can feel and see through their inner senses.  Where paradise is in their soul.  One may think that these individuals are psychic.  They have become receptive that their intuition connects with the universal language easily.  To some, they are able to experience spontaneous spirits communication.

It is their reward from doing meditation regularly over the past years.  It is their mental state of purity celebrating full liberation.  It is their self-transformation, through meditation, for deeper state of observation.

Basically, what is happening here, meditation raises our vibrations.  A higher vibration with regular meditation means that we are more closely aligned with the Source Energy.  To raise this vibration is a way for us to start attracting better things in life.  Over time, we start to feel better and will start having a totally different outlook on our life.  We shift our focus to a more peaceful, abundant and happy energy.

For the record, a meditation is not about sitting down in stillness, in silence, for hours a day.  Meditation requires no time frame - just a discipline, but when we are able to hold the stillness, when there is tremendous peace engulfed, time becomes a friend.  The science of meditation becomes the true science of joy.

Meditation comes with many benefits when it is being done often, even for 15 or 30 minutes a day.  Meditation is about an inner call to go back to 'I Am'.  When we sit down just trying to find that peace of mind within and not expecting anything to happen immediately.  When we surrender to the quietness of the thoughts and letting them to slowly wash away becoming total detached of our physical and emotional struggles.

Meditation is effortless.  All that we need is to find the time, the place and create the space to allow our soul to bathe.  It is the simplest way to raise our body energy.  It is the easiest way for energy maximization.  It is the natural mechanism to bring back our breath of life to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.

Meditation is not a religion.  It is not about sitting down to worship.  It has never been the original intention.  It is just an activity for higher purposes.  It is a chosen practice to train our mind, or a self induced activity, a mode of consciousness.  An activity, done regularly, that will cause inner state of peace and realization.  A state that brings intimate relationship with our Higher Self.  Off knowing.  Off joy and comfort.

The dogma of meditation does not restrict only to buddhism but it is a religious practice of many other religions.  In some form or another, meditation appears in just about every one of the world's religions including Christianity and Islam.

When most people think about meditation as a whole, it is Buddhism that comes to mind.  This is likely because the root of one of the primary categories of meditaion is of the dharmic religion especially Buddhism and Hinduisim.  Perhaps, many written records about meditation and the techniques have been written in a Buddhist context.

The Bible has it written, 'Be still and know that I am God'.  It is a form of prayer in which a structured attempt is made to get in touch with and deliberately reflect upon the revelations of God.  Being still is a subtle form of meditation.  When a mind is still, it brings a divine consciousness to our soul.  To our purpose of life.

In Islam, a Muslim focuses and meditates on God through his obligation during the prayer that he has to do five times a day.  It is about sitting down in silence, and to quiet his mind, to reaffirm and strengthen his purpose of the soul to truth.  Such meditation is intended to help maintain a feeling of spiritual peace in the face of whatever challenges work, social or family life may present.

In Hinduism, the practice of meditation is about controlling the mind and senses so the ego can be transcended and the true self experienced.

Pyramid Meditation

Perhaps, for the longest time, the way I had been doing my meditation was - in my personal experience, not so right. I had always thought that I should sit straight as to align the chakras and the etheric body in a single line. It was a tiring position to be in and my meditation session could not last more than 30 minutes in one seating.

Recently, I attended a talk by a great New Age Grand Master from India, Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji. Brahmarshi Patriji made meditation easier. According to him, there should not be restrictions to the way we sit for meditation. Our body should find a relaxed position where meditation can be enjoyed, for a longer time period. The only physical observation is the way we hold our hands together while our feet are connected and grounded.

I must admit on the importance of a right sitting position.  While some schools insist that we should sit straight in line with the Universe, where our head is positioned to receive the cosmic energy, this position does not give the flexibility for the body to relax.  It takes awhile for a meditator to go into a state of relaxation and, therefore, to completely have an altered state of consciousness.

Meditation should provide easy comfort from the time we sit down to meditate.  With Pyramid Meditation under Patriji, we may sit at any position which is most comfortable for the individual.  One may even give a little slouch should it is comfortable.  The next thing is to observe how we hold our hands together to form the Yin Yang mudra.  It is about inter-connecting the left and right, front and back into a small circle resembling the Universe within us.

The technique for Pyramid Meditation is no different.  With a steady breath in - out - in - out thinking of nothing except our breathing, and visualize the formation of pyramid around the nose and the Third Eye areas greatly enhance the meditation session. Having another visualization where I am seating under an imaginative Pyramid allows relaxation to take place almost immediately.

The one thing that I learn during that talk is the understanding of our esoteric chakras.  I have always the impression, and thereafter the acceptance for a straight meditation sitting posture, because of these chakras.  Then, it makes sense for the flow of cosmic energy to come in through the crown and downwards all the way to root chakra.  Patriji awakens my ignorance.  These chakras are in our etheric body and not in the physical body.  They are inside us but not inside.

Doing Pyramid Meditation seems endless. An hour session feels like only 30 minutes of meditation. Such an experience and observation is also felt by a dearest Indigo friend who has re-started his meditation session.

Meditation done inside a pyramid or underneath a pyramid is called Pyramid Meditation.  However, in the absence of a physical pyramid, one may create an imaginative pyramid where he visualizes to be seated inside it.  The use of a pyramid in meditation can give rise to feelings of calmness, well being and a more open and a positive attitude.  There are also claims of extreme euphoria, increased memory recall, visions of past life, telepathic communication and an expansion of awareness.

Pyramids are store houses of energy drawn from the Universe.  The power of pyramid is obtained through blending of cosmic energy with that of the gravitational force of Mother Earth.  Doing meditation sessions inside the pyramid bring truly amazing altered and higher state of consciousness.

Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji, and how the sitting position is --

(See how the hands are being held)

Looking back, I am glad that I met Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji. He has made many more of my meditation sessions enjoyable. In the spirit of his global intention, I am urging all of you to start giving 15 minutes of your time daily to soak into this Pyramid Meditation. And thereafter, to increase the duration.

I am certain there will be a heightened consciousness individually. I am certain there will be beautiful insights to guide your life. I am certain for the Law of Attractions and Vibrations be just a natural energy stored in the soul.
