We went back to Sungei Kadut today.  Not because we wanted to do any shopping but to accompany a friend who was interested to get the same Simmons bed.  It was fortunate that we went along.

It was a little crowded when we reached there.  There was only one sales person and he was not the same guy who served us two weeks earlier.  My friend was not interested to test other beds as she felt comfortable just lying on the same Arlington Plush that we bought.  Now, the big surprise.

When we asked for the price, it was quoted $700 above our purchased price, after the GSS discount.  Geez!  Her heart almost dropped.   We managed to get the same price, for our friend, after we got him to call his colleague and to check on our record.  My friend was happy!

There are many furniture warehouses in Sungei Kadut.  We visited Mondi Lifestyle, Zen Tradition and Wihardja Furnishing.  We found, and purchased, a daybed for our balcony at a reasonable price at Wihardja.

We are looking forward to the Great Singapore Sale [GSS] which starts on 23 May till 20 July.  It is just timely.  It will, definitely, be a good time to get most of our furnishings for the new house at great discounts - it means that we will be able to save some money for some great buys. 

Hopefully, GSS will also give Chiauw better prices, on top of her usual corporate discounts.

We went to International Furniture Centre [www.ifcsingapore.com] at Sungei Kadut Loop yesterday.  It was our first time.  Indeed, the place boasted furniture collections from local and international export manufacturers. 

However, we didn't see much to our likings.  Perhaps, we were scrolling and browsing too fast to take notice of the many things.  Perhaps, it was just too much of the same thing.
There were some good bargains.  In fact, it was good for anyone to go down should they had the time and looking to buy some furniture.

We saw a Mahogany dining table:

We are looking for a long, about 2 metres, 'wood' dining table with 3 chairs and a bench.  This will be one that we might consider and we would probably custom-made a glass top.

The only thing that we bought was a King-size Simmons Arlington Plush Non-Flip mattress.  We didn't know that there is Ackerman & Smith shop there.  Ackerman & Smith is an authorised Simmons dealer.

03.  Two bolsters

The good thing is they are able to store the mattress and to deliver it to us in September.
